As a Medical Material specialist in the 4A1X1 career field, you will play a vital role in supporting medical operations by managing and maintaining medical supplies, equipment, and assets. Your responsibilities will include inventory control, procurement, distribution, and accountability of medical materials to ensure healthcare providers have the necessary resources for patient care. This position demands attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Medical Supply Management: Receive, store, and manage medical supplies, equipment, and materials. Perform inventory control functions, including stock replenishment, shelf-life management, and expiration date monitoring. Ensure accurate documentation and tracking of medical assets.

2. Procurement and Requisition: Coordinate and process procurement requests for medical supplies and equipment. Interface with vendors, suppliers, and procurement personnel to obtain required items. Maintain knowledge of medical procurement regulations, guidelines, and procedures.

3. Distribution and Delivery: Coordinate the distribution and delivery of medical supplies and equipment to healthcare providers and medical facilities. Ensure timely and accurate delivery based on operational requirements. Utilize appropriate handling and storage practices to maintain the integrity of medical materials.

4. Equipment Management: Assist in the management and maintenance of medical equipment. Coordinate equipment inspections, maintenance, and repair activities. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and equipment standards. Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and service history.

5. Inventory Control and Accountability: Conduct regular inventories and audits of medical supplies and equipment. Ensure accountability of all items and reconcile discrepancies. Utilize computerized inventory management systems to track and manage medical materials.

6. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation and records related to medical materials, supplies, and equipment. Generate reports and provide data on inventory levels, consumption rates, and procurement needs. Assist in analyzing data to identify trends, optimize inventory levels, and improve supply chain efficiency.

7. Quality Control and Compliance: Adhere to quality control procedures and guidelines to ensure the integrity and safety of medical materials. Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements, such as storage conditions, labeling, and handling practices. Participate in quality assurance programs and assist in investigations of product recalls or quality issues.

8. Emergency Preparedness: Support emergency preparedness and contingency plans by maintaining appropriate levels of medical supplies and equipment. Collaborate with other healthcare and logistics personnel to ensure readiness for emergency response operations.

9. Training and Collaboration: Stay updated on medical material management practices, regulations, and technologies. Participate in training programs to enhance knowledge and skills. Collaborate with healthcare providers, logistics personnel, and other stakeholders to optimize medical material support to healthcare operations.

Qualifications:

- Knowledge of medical supplies, equipment, and material management principles.

- Familiarity with inventory control practices, procurement processes, and supply chain management.
