As a Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) Analyst in the 1N2X1 career field, you will play a crucial role in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting signals intelligence to support the United States Air Force's mission. Your responsibilities will include monitoring and analyzing communication signals, identifying potential threats, and providing actionable intelligence to decision-makers. Key Responsibilities:
1. Signals Intelligence Collection: Monitor, intercept, and analyze communication signals using specialized equipment and software. Collect data from various sources, including radio transmissions, electronic emissions, and digital communications. Apply advanced technical knowledge and skills to extract relevant intelligence from intercepted signals.
2. Signal Analysis and Processing: Analyze intercepted signals to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies. Apply analytical techniques and tools to process and evaluate the information contained within the signals. Identify and assess the significance of potential threats or intelligence indicators.
3. Intelligence Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely intelligence reports based on the analysis of signals intelligence. Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and decision-makers. Collaborate with other intelligence units and agencies to provide comprehensive situational awareness and support ongoing operations.
4. Target Development: Assist in the development of target profiles and databases based on signals intelligence. Identify and track high-value targets, networks, and entities of interest. Provide input to targeting strategies and operational planning.
5. Technical Expertise and Training: Maintain proficiency in the use of SIGINT equipment, software, and analysis tools. Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and threats in the signals intelligence domain. Participate in training exercises and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a top-secret security clearance.
- Successful completion of Basic Military Training and the Signals Intelligence Analyst Technical Training Course.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in signals intelligence collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Familiarity with SIGINT equipment and software.
- Knowledge of communication systems, protocols, and encryption methods.
- Attention to detail and ability to work with complex data sets.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to handle classified information responsibly and adhere to strict security protocols.
