As a Missile and Space Facilities specialist in the 2M0X3 career field, you will play a crucial role in the maintenance and operation of missile and space facilities and systems. Your responsibilities will include performing inspections, repairs, and maintenance on launch facilities, missile systems, and associated equipment. This position demands technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work in high-security environments.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Facility Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on missile and space facilities, including launch facilities, control centers, and support buildings. Perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the operational readiness and reliability of facility systems, such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural components.

2. Missile Systems Maintenance: Perform maintenance, repairs, and inspections on missile systems and associated equipment. This includes missile launchers, transportation vehicles, support equipment, and guidance systems. Follow technical manuals and procedures to troubleshoot and diagnose system malfunctions. Conduct tests and calibration to verify system performance.

3. Security and Safety Compliance: Adhere to security protocols and procedures to maintain the integrity and safety of missile and space facilities. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and guidelines to protect personnel and equipment. Report any security or safety breaches or concerns to appropriate authorities.

4. Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate and maintain specialized equipment used in missile and space facility maintenance, such as test equipment, diagnostic tools, and maintenance vehicles. Conduct routine inspections, repairs, and maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functionality and reliability. Coordinate repairs and maintenance activities with support personnel and vendors as needed.

5. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and equipment status. Complete required documentation, including work orders, maintenance logs, and equipment inventories. Generate reports on maintenance activities, system performance, and equipment status. Assist in analyzing data and identifying trends to optimize maintenance processes and resource allocation.

6. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with a team of maintenance technicians, engineers, and support personnel to ensure effective and efficient operation of missile and space facilities. Communicate maintenance needs, issues, and progress to supervisors and team members. Participate in training and knowledge-sharing activities to enhance skills and knowledge within the team.

7. Emergency Response: Support emergency response operations in missile and space facilities. Participate in emergency drills and exercises to ensure readiness and compliance with emergency procedures. Assist in implementing emergency protocols and measures to mitigate risks and protect personnel and assets.

8. Training and Professional Development: Stay updated on technical knowledge and skills related to missile and space facility maintenance. Attend training programs, workshops, and professional development opportunities to enhance expertise. Keep abreast of advancements in missile and space systems technology and maintenance practices.

Qualifications:

- Knowledge of missile and space facility systems, equipment, and maintenance procedures.

- Familiarity with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural components used in facility maintenance.

- Strong technical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve system malfunctions.

- Ability to interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

- Attention to detail and adherence to safety and security protocols.

- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with a diverse team of maintenance technicians and support personnel.

- Physical fitness and the ability to work in various weather conditions and confined spaces.

- U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a security clearance.
