As a Fuels specialist in the 2F0X1 career field, you will play a crucial role in managing, handling, and distributing aviation fuels for the Air Force. Your responsibilities will include inspecting fuel storage facilities, operating fueling equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. This position requires attention to detail, technical expertise, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of fuel quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Fuel Operations: Receive, store, and issue aviation fuels in compliance with established procedures and safety regulations. Operate fueling equipment, including trucks, refueling hydrants, and fueling systems. Conduct fuel transfers, measurements, and quality control tests. Monitor fuel inventory levels and coordinate fuel supply logistics.

2. Fuel Quality Assurance: Inspect fuel storage facilities, pipelines, and vehicles to ensure compliance with safety, security, and environmental regulations. Perform routine inspections and maintenance on fueling equipment to maintain proper functioning. Sample and analyze fuel for quality control purposes. Monitor and enforce fuel quality standards and documentation.

3. Safety and Environmental Compliance: Adhere to strict safety protocols and procedures during fueling operations. Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations. Mitigate environmental risks associated with fuel handling and storage. Respond to and report fuel spills or other incidents promptly.

4. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of fuel transactions, inspections, quality tests, and equipment maintenance. Complete required documentation, including fueling logs, inspection reports, and safety records. Generate reports on fuel consumption, inventory levels, and maintenance activities. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to provide updates on fuel operations and maintenance efforts.

5. Training and Teamwork: Stay updated on technical knowledge and regulations related to aviation fuels. Attend training programs and maintain required certifications. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth fueling operations and support mission requirements. Provide training and guidance to personnel involved in fuel operations and safety procedures.

Qualifications:

- Comprehensive knowledge of aviation fuels, storage, and handling procedures.

- Proficiency in fueling equipment operation and maintenance.

- Understanding of safety protocols and environmental regulations related to fuel operations.

- Familiarity with fuel quality control and testing methods.

- Ability to interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and procedures.

- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

- Attention to detail and commitment to following strict protocols and safety guidelines.

- Physical fitness and the ability to perform tasks requiring lifting, bending, and prolonged standing.

- U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a security clearance.
