QUALIFICATIONS SUMMARY (PER THE AIR FORCE WEBSITE)
High school diploma, GED with 15 college credits, or GED
Knowledge of electronic and network principles Normal color vision
Possession of a state driver’s license to operate government motor vehicles
Experience in installation of voice, data and video network infrastructure
Completion of a current Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI)
Completion of 8.5 weeks of Basic Military Training
Must be between the ages of 17 and 39
Technical Training: 136 days
Technical School Location: Keesler AFB MS
Status Upon Completion of Technical School: CCAF Degree with credits earned towards Electronic Systems Technology.
Job Description: Cyber Transport Systems Airmen are the IT specialists of the Air Force. They provide mission-critical voice, data, and video services, deploy and operate expeditionary communications systems, and monitor the performance of systems and circuits. Cyber Transport Systems Airmen are also responsible for testing and troubleshooting network systems equipment and circuits. This includes IP detection systems, which identify cybersecurity breaches, as well as cryptographic equipment.
