As a Missile and Space Systems Electronic Maintenance specialist in the 2M0X1 career field, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing electronic systems and components of missile and space systems. Your role will involve diagnosing and troubleshooting electronic malfunctions, performing repairs and modifications, and conducting preventive maintenance to ensure the operational readiness and reliability of these critical systems. This position requires a strong background in electronics, attention to detail, and the ability to work in high-security environments.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Electronic Systems Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, inspections, repairs, and modifications on electronic systems and components of missile and space systems. This includes guidance systems, communication systems, radar systems, telemetry equipment, and other electronic devices. Follow technical manuals, procedures, and schematics to identify and resolve electronic malfunctions.

2. Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Utilize specialized tools, test equipment, and diagnostic software to troubleshoot electronic systems and identify malfunctions. Analyze circuitry, wiring diagrams, and system specifications to isolate and rectify faults. Conduct tests, measurements, and calibration procedures to ensure proper functioning and performance.

3. Repair and Modification: Perform repairs, component replacements, and system modifications on electronic equipment. This includes soldering, wiring, and assembling electronic components to restore functionality. Adhere to safety protocols and quality standards throughout the repair and modification processes.

4. Preventive Maintenance: Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance activities on electronic systems and components to prevent malfunctions and ensure optimal performance. Inspect, clean, and lubricate electronic equipment as necessary. Perform routine checks and tests to verify system integrity and functionality.

5. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and equipment status. Complete required documentation, including work orders, maintenance logs, and equipment inventories. Generate reports on maintenance activities, system performance, and equipment status. Assist in analyzing data and identifying trends to optimize maintenance processes and resource allocation.

6. Security and Safety Compliance: Adhere to security protocols and procedures to maintain the integrity and safety of missile and space systems. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and guidelines to protect personnel and equipment. Report any security or safety breaches or concerns to appropriate authorities.

7. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with a team of maintenance technicians, engineers, and support personnel to ensure effective and efficient operation of missile and space systems. Communicate maintenance needs, issues, and progress to supervisors and team members. Participate in training and knowledge-sharing activities to enhance skills and knowledge within the team.

8. Emergency Response: Support emergency response operations related to missile and space systems. Participate in emergency drills and exercises to ensure readiness and compliance with emergency procedures. Assist in implementing emergency protocols and measures to mitigate risks and protect personnel and assets.

9. Training and Professional Development: Stay updated on technical knowledge and skills related to missile and space systems electronic maintenance. Attend training programs, workshops, and professional development opportunities to enhance expertise. Keep abreast of advancements in electronic systems technology and maintenance practices.

Qualifications:

- Strong knowledge of electronic principles, circuitry, and components.

- Familiarity with electronic systems used in missile and space operations, including guidance systems, communication systems, radar systems, and telemetry equipment.

- Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing electronic malfunctions.

- Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
